goats of the future

farming goats in community

We propose a change: farming in community, in a way that enriches land and soil, as well as human health and imagination. We raise dairy goats to live curious, social lives; to express their animal instincts; and to harvest their own nutrition and medicine.

baby goat cuddles

We're opening the barn for baby goat cuddles on April 1st. During spring break (April 1-7), we'll have a full week of daily cuddle sessions and then will be open Fri-Sun through May 12 plus select Wednesday nights open for private bookings.

meet the dreamgoats

Join the herd! Be inducted into goat world via spring baby goat cuddles, summer-fall goat hikes, a holiday hikes + hugs event between Christmas and New Years (bring your xmas tree for recycling!) or a wintry wander, January-February. You can also become an ongoing supporter by becoming a Year of Goats or Year of Soap member, joining our Herdshare, or becoming a volunteer milkmaid/goatherd.

Get milk or soap (or a cuddles + hike subscription) from your own goats by owning a share of the herd.

learn to make soap

Come out to the farm for a workshop on soapmaking! Meet the goats, learn the craft, take home your self-made soap and the skills to make more. We will be releasing more soapmaking dates in spring 2024.

Dream Shop

Adjacent to our goat barn, is our soap studio, where we craft farmstead soap with dream milk, organic oils, and local herbs. Each bar is unique, hand-cut, blended with pure essential oils, and colored with plants. With each seasonal bar, we tell the story of where we live and the plants and scents that surround our woodland dairy and our Michigan home.

Idlewild Barn.jpg

We've built a new beautiful barn and partnership with Idlewild Farm in Belding, Michigan.

Located between Lowell and Greenville, and a half-hour drive from Grand Rapids, our goats now live nestled between apple trees, flowers, and a drove of hogs.

Turn your goat visit into a day trip by visiting Idlewild's Fri/Sat UPick Flower Patch! Other country delights include camping, fishing, river floating, or horseback riding at Double R Ranch. Enjoy ice cream down the road at KD's Corner or dinner, drinks, and live music at The Smyrna Bar, a few minutes away. Or plan to visit galleries, shops, and antiques in nearby Lowell.
