our story.

Dreamgoats was started by Leah Sienkowski in 2016 with three goats, no barn, and no land. The herd was carted from overgrown backyards to friends' farms in the backseat of her Honda Civic. Dreamgoats was an experiment in embodied living and an antidote to disconnection: from food, from nature, and from each other.
The farm has long since grown from a personal dream into a group project situated on forty acres of lush orchard and prairie at Idlewild Farm.
Avery Lewis joined the team in 2025, a partner in herd management, volunteer coordination, and agritourism. Alongside thirty-some volunteer farmers, we milk the does each day, rotationally graze the herd, and open the farm up to the community for goat cuddles, hikes, and classes. We’re a mismatched crew united by a hunger for regular and meaningful connection with each other, with our animals, and with the land.
