May 10: Herd Hike (4:30 PM)

Take a hike with the herd! Join us for a hike with the goats through forty acres of woods, marsh, and prairie. Hike is about one mile with slight inclines, but easy terrain and good trail conditions. First 15 minutes is a meet-n-greet with the herd; the hike itself is about 40 minutes. Be mesmerized by the foraging herd and other earthly delights.

Please dress for the weather, apply bug spray/sunscreen as needed. There is poison ivy along the trail, so please wear long pants and closed toed shoes. Goatmilk soap and swag available for sale after the hike!

$10/hiker. No walk-ins. Free for herdshare owners.

How to find us: We will meet in the back of Ada Christian School by the barn. Go through the metal gate near the Fox Hollow St. entrance, park in the lot near the basketball hoops, and walk past the hoophouse & garden until you reach the goat and chicken barn.

Refund policy: must be requested 24 hours in advance of the event to be considered, or the day of the event, in the case of reschedulling. 

Rain policy: if chance of rain is >60% during scheduled time of hike and/or conditions are unsafe, event will be rescheduled for 5pm the next day, 5pm the next Saturday, or 2pm the next Sunday (if no hike is scheduled at that time). This decision will be made the morning of the event. 

FAQs

What can I bring into the event?

Please do not bring treats for the goats. They will eat plants along the way and are on a strictly organic forage, hay, and grain diet. Cameras and phones are fine. Waterbottles and layering is encouraged.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No need to bring your ticket or ID. You will just need to give your name at check-in. 

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Up to 2 days before the event, you may transfer your ticket to another date, if there is space. We cannot add additional hikers to full events. We want this hike to be as enjoyable as possible and for everyone to have a chance to interact with the goats. 

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes. Feel free to pass along purchased tickets to others if needed.
